Webber Energy Fuels has a long history of investing in education and the young people of our state. We have contributed over a million dollars for scholarships and educational programs in Maine.

Maine Aspirations Benchmarking Initiative
The Maine Aspirations Benchmarking Initiative is a multi-year project directed by the University of Maine/Maine Principals' Association Research Partnership. Webber Energy Fuels gave researchers $300,000 to do an unprecedented 10-year study on the motivations and aspirations of Maine students. The study will examine a key issue in education in Maine. It will explore why the state has one of the highest rates of high school graduates in the United States but one of the lowest for post-secondary achievement.

This project promises to bring about positive change in terms of increasing the number of students that aspire to post-secondary education. Every sixth-grader through 12th-grader in Maine will be questioned. Some children in kindergarten through grade five also will be interviewed. It will generate a sweeping data base of information from more than 105,000 Maine students and establish a national model of how schools can use their students' perspectives in responsive reform efforts.

The study also will give each school the information collected from its students. The analyses will show the schools what influences and inspires the students to reach their full potential and what supports and conditions are present or lacking.

If a teacher becomes a new automatic delivery heating oil customer of any Webber Energy subsidiary, we will donate $100 toward any extra-curricular activity or academic project (i.e. band, athletic teams, Project Graduation, computer technology, etc.) at their school. They will be personally recognized for our $100 donation in their name.
