Many companies operate with one simple goal… to generate profit. Since 1935, Webber Energy Fuels has taken a more creative approach to its operations. Simply put, from profitability flows a giving back to the communities we serve.

Webber Energy Fuels has focused most of its financial support on educational programs.

  • Over the years, Webber’s given over one million dollars in scholarships and educational support to hundreds of students and schools throughout the state of Maine.
  • Most recently, Webber announced its donation of $300,000 to fund the Maine Student Aspirations Benchmarking Initiative, a 10-year research project directed by the University of Maine and the Maine Principals' Association aimed at improving the motivation and aspirations of Maine students.
  • We’ve also put forth a challenge to local school teachers. As a teacher becomes a new heating oil customer, we make a $100 donation in their name to the school project or program of their choice.

Webber Energy Fuels has also been a proud supporter of numerous national organizations such as: The United Way, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Cancer Association, and many others. On a local level, Webber has donated generously to such organizations as: YMCA/YWCA, Maine Center for the Arts, Abnaki Girl Scouts Council, Katahdin Area Boy Scouts, and regional hospital campaigns.

Our employees are equally committed to serving their communities as volunteers, coaches, board members, and donors alike.

  • In the greater Bangor area alone, Webber's employees are directly involved in nearly 100 different organizations.
  • The company's United Way campaign has always been a success, thanks to the outstanding generosity of the employees. In fact, Webber recently received the Campaign Chair's Award for the best campaign of its size in the area.
  • As part of the company's United Way campaign, Webber has adopted a very unique community project that assists the Retired Senior Volunteers' Program (R.S.V.P.), a sponsored program of the United Way.

Webber is a remarkable organization, made up of talented and committed people, all with an admirable history of giving back to the communities in which they serve.

"This is a grass-roots organization that raises money throughout the year to support breast cancer awareness campaigns. We also make donations to local hospitals for chemotherapy supplies and provide assistance to certain individuals who have special needs."
- Candy Morrill, Webber’s Product Control Coordinator.

Candy Morrill is a co-founder of Maine Breast Cancer Survivors.

"I primarily try to teach them the skills they need to be self sufficient in the outdoors and to be good team leaders now and in the future."
- Marshall Smith, Webber’s Fleet Administrator.

Marshall Smith has been active with the Boy Scouts for over six years. As Scout Master for Troop 1 in Brewer, Smith is an influential leader for the youths in his troop. He believes that by being a scout master, he can share his knowledge with the young people, and help them develop as wise and constructive adults.
